ABSTRACT
In some patients, ascending aortic aneurysms or dissections produce aortitis, not associated with clinical or investigational evidence of infective or non-infective vasculitis or systemic diseases. This type of aortitis is termed clinically isolated aortitis, which is often a surprise finding in surgical pathological material. We report a series of five such cases in patients in their fifth decade of life with an almost equal sex distribution.
