ABSTRACT
Type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity constitute major global public health concerns, with their incidence continuing to rise worldwide. These metabolic conditions are closely interrelated and commonly coexist, exerting a synergistic impact on cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. The interplay between diabetes, obesity, and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease has become a focal point of research, as elucidating their pathophysiological underpinnings and prognostic implications is crucial for establishing effective prevention and treatment approaches.
