ABSTRACT
SUMMARY: We describe a rare case of arginine vasopressin deficiency (AVP-D) in a female in her 40s that developed two weeks following symptomatic COVID-19 infection. Symptoms included polydipsia, nocturia and polyuria of 9.1 L per day. A water deprivation test demonstrated an ongoing high urine output despite increasing plasma osmolality, confirming the diagnosis. Desmopressin was commenced with good effect and titrated to clinical response. This demonstrates the importance of awareness of potential pituitary complications following COVID-19 infection, including AVP-D.
