ABSTRACT
The management of pregnant patients with cardiovascular (CV) disease is focused on optimizing maternal, obstetric, and fetal outcomes. In this article, we provide guidance on intrapartum care for patients with lower risk CV conditions who can safely deliver in lower-resource settings. This includes discussion of physiologic changes during labor and delivery, commonly used medications, proposed indications for telemetry monitoring, and individualized condition specific care recommendations.
