ABSTRACT

Fontan-associated liver disease develops in nearly everyone living with Fontan physiology, most commonly presenting with asymptomatic hepatic fibrosis. Guidelines for monitoring for progression of disease and risk factors for more severe disease are not well described. Collaboration between cardiologists, hepatologists and surgeons from both pediatric and adult medicine backgrounds in the management of these patients are necessary to provide the best care for these complex patients.
