ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND: Guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) improves outcomes in heart failure. Continuous dose titration of GDMT is mandatory to reduce heart failure morbidity and mortality. The renal resistive index (RRI) is a Doppler ultrasound marker that can be used to assess kidney health and predict outcomes in chronic kidney disease as well as in heart failure. Vericiguat is the latest approved drug for heart failure associated with cardiovascular clinical benefits as add-on therapy.
RESULTS: Vericiguat administration induces RRI improvement and a higher percentage of GDMT optimization.
MAJOR FINDINGS: Vericiguat could drive GDMT implementation via RRI reduction.
