ABSTRACT
The WHO VigiBase is a worldwide registry of cardiac arrests associated with anaesthesia cases. Using data from VigiBase, Perez and Fettiplace established a Risk of Reporting (RoR) metric for each common anaesthetic agent, comparing the occurrence of cardiac arrest associated with a given agent relative to its reported use in the database with propofol as the reference agent. This 'RoR' metric can inform future research into the association between specific anaesthesia medications and the risk for perioperative cardiac arrest.
