ABSTRACT
The Diabetic Foot Group of the Chinese Diabetes Society, Chinese Medical Association was founded in 1995 and renamed the Diabetes Foot and Peripheral Vascular Disease Group (hereinafter referred to as the Group) in 2012. Over the past 30 years, through the persistent efforts of successive generations of specialists, the Group has achieved fruitful outcomes in clinical practice, scientific research, talent cultivation, international academic exchanges and other fields. This paper reviews the developmental course of the Group, summarizes the work accomplished by its seven successive committees, analyzes the gaps between domestic research on diabetic foot and peripheral vascular diseases in China and the advanced international standards, and puts forward proposals for the future development of the Group.
