ABSTRACT
The article considers the problem of rationality of pharmacotherapy in elderly patients with acute coronary syndrome. An analysis of drug prescriptions was conducted using geriatric scales, including STOPP/START criteria and Beers criteria, in order to identify potentially irrational therapy. The results of the study showed a high frequency of inconsistencies in dosages, a significant number of drug-drug interactions and an increased risk of prescribing potentially dangerous drugs. The identified features of pharmacotherapy in elderly patients emphasize the need for specialized assessment tools and implementation of drug treatment optimization algorithms to minimize the risk of polypharmacy and improve the safety of therapy.
